“SNAP” MELNIKER COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The International Executive Council, at its April 18, 1978 Meeting, established the William "Snap" Melniker Community Service Award. This is to be an annual award to a Chapter for outstanding community service. A permanent plaque honoring the winning Chapters has been established at the International Headquarters.
Each Chapter is to furnish the Awards Committee with a report explaining in detail the community service projects undertaken by the Chapter and showing evidence of the results. The Chapter's request for consideration must have the signature of the Chapter Advisor, Regional Governor, or an International Executive Councilman.
The Awards Committee will consider the size of the Chapter, Chapter participation, and results. Additional consideration will be given to the length of time devoted to the projects, whether the projects are annual in nature and how the projects served to make the community and school more aware of Pi Lambda Phi's ideals.
The annual chapter recipient of the Award will be based upon the above criteria, rather than the amount of dollars raised.
